How Does the How Does the Hunter Douglas Repair Process Work?
Your window treatments come with a limited lifetime guarantee that covers every aspect, including brackets and internal parts, for Hunter Douglas shades, blinds, shutters, and drapery. If you have an issue, the warranty is likely to cover it. If you're outside your warranty, we will gladly work with you to repair your window treatments or walk you through your options.
You can call us if we sold you the window treatments or if you purchased them from a company that doesn't offer repairs. After you call, our repair specialists can take a look. We can order any parts for your Hunter Douglas shades, blinds, or shutters, even if you didn't purchase your window treatments from us. There are three ways we can work with you.
- We like to start by inspecting your window treatment on-site. This gives us the best opportunity to evaluate the problem and determine what needs to be done. Our certified repair crew may be able to repair the issue on the spot.
- If that's not an option, you can drop off the window treatments at our Canoga Park, CA, showroom.
- You can call and schedule a delivery so we can work on them, but a delivery fee may apply, which is not covered by the warranty.
No matter which option you choose, our trained, professional staff can quickly repair your window treatments and return them to you.
What's Covered in Hunter Douglas Blinds Repair?
Fortunately, at Classic Window Shades, we can repair almost any issue with your window treatment, including blind repairs and defective components, without voiding the warranty. Even if you've purchased your product from another dealer or it's no longer under warranty, we can likely repair it. We'll work as fast as possible, which could be an immediate fix in some cases. However, you may have to wait a few weeks, particularly if we need to order parts.
Your limited lifetime warranty covers the following:
- Defects in workmanship, materials, and failure to operate as long as the original purchaser still owns the product (unless shorter periods are listed below)
- All internal mechanisms
- All components
- Fabric delamination
- Replacements or repairs to be made with similar parts or products
- Blinds and shades for 7 years
- Motorization for 5 years
Your Limited Lifetime warranty does NOT cover:
- Damage caused by normal wear and tear
- Abuse, accidents, or alterations
- Exposure to the elements and discoloration
- Improper cleaning, measurement, installation, or maintenance
- Torn or ripped fabrics,
- Torn or ripped fabrics, discontinued parts, and discontinued products
- Shipping charges, cost of removal, cost of reinstallation
What If My Issue Isn't Covered by the Limited Lifetime Warranty?
If your Hunter Douglas blinds repair needs aren't covered by the Limited Lifetime Warranty or the parts for your Hunter Douglas shades have been discontinued, we may still be able to help you.
However, since you will no longer have the warranty covering the cost of repairs, you may want to see if you can repair them yourself. Many Hunter Douglas products have a repair guide on the website. You can look through it and see if the repairs are something you can handle on your own.
If you cannot do it yourself, please call and let us see the issue. We may still be able to repair your window treatment so it works as well as before.
